Support
Vegawize is bookkeeping software for small businesses in the United States. It connects to your bank and card accounts, sorts each transaction into your chart of accounts and keeps a double-entry ledger, so your profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow and month-end close all follow from the transactions themselves. Most of that runs without you: once a week we email a short digest with the handful of transactions the software could not place confidently, and you answer those.
Found a security problem? Email [email protected] with what you found and how to reproduce it. We acknowledge security reports within 2 business days. Please do not post it publicly before we have answered.
When you write to us
It saves a round trip if you include:
- The email address you sign in with, and the name of the business.
- What you expected to happen and what happened instead.
- If it is about one transaction: its date, its amount and which account it is on.
Never send us a password, a bank login, a two-factor code, or a full bank account or card number. We will never ask you for them, and we cannot see your bank credentials in any case — you type those inside Plaid's own widget, never into Vegawize. A message asking you for them did not come from us.
Where things are in the app
| What you want to do | Where |
|---|---|
| Connect, reconnect or disconnect a bank | Bank connections. Two-factor authentication has to be on first — Settings → Security. |
| Answer the questions about transactions | Review, or the answer links in the weekly digest email. |
| Change a category we got wrong | Transactions → open the transaction → pick another account. Asking us to remember it turns the correction into a rule for that merchant. |
| Work without a bank connection | Bank connections → import a CSV, OFX or QFX statement. |
| Get your books out | Reports → Export: PDF or CSV of any report, and the full journal as CSV or in QuickBooks or Xero format. |
| Change or stop the weekly digest | Settings → Notifications, or the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any digest. |
| Add or remove people | Team. Only an owner can change roles or invite. |
Closing your account
You do this yourself, in the app: Settings → Profile → Close account. It asks for your password to confirm. Export anything you want to keep first (Reports → Export) — once the account is closed you cannot sign in to fetch it.
- Your access ends immediately and you are signed out on every device.
- A business you share with another owner keeps running without you; you are simply removed from it. A business where you are the only owner is closed along with your account: its bank connections are removed at Plaid straight away and the access tokens destroyed.
- Personal data — names, email addresses, the business address and EIN digits — is permanently deleted 30 days after closure. A job runs every night to do it, and records what it removed.
- Financial records — transactions, ledger entries, reports and their audit trail — are not deleted with it. They are kept inactive, where no one can see or change them, for 7 years from closure, because bookkeeping and tax law require it, and are permanently deleted after that.
- Backups are encrypted and rotate on their own schedule, so data you deleted leaves the backups within 12 months at the latest.
To close a business but keep your own account, use Settings → Business instead; it asks for your password and for the business name typed out in full.
Closing cannot be undone: we do not restore closed accounts. Export what you want to keep before you confirm.
Privacy and terms
What we collect, who we share it with and how long we keep it is in the Privacy Policy. The agreement between us is the Terms of Service. Both are worth the five minutes.
One thing we cannot do
Vegawize is software, not an accountant. We can explain what it did and fix what it got wrong, but we do not give tax, legal or accounting advice, and nothing the software produces replaces a qualified professional. Your books are yours to review.
